There is a historical film, it is in relation to farms and farm labor, "Our Daily Bread," released in 1934 last century during the dust bowl era, and it had been the Great Depression.

The couple shown in the film had fallen on long hard times in NYC, and the husband, a portrayed human being person, man, named, John Sims had been searching weeks, or even months for a job, and, he obviously knew the rent collector, and had refrained from talking with him, again by how he knew him,

and John Sims ducked around the corner.

  Mary Sims answered the door, and the rent collector had informed her that the rent had been over due to long, and that the apartment rent just had to be paid, and he had been very adamite by his conveyance.

John Sims had kept saying, in hope, and a wing and a prayer demeanor, that he is going to get a job.  Mary Sims had brought up her uncle, and that kind of third party situation is dubious, at best.  

One of the saddest things, John Sims traded a ukelele instrument for song of harmonious melodies, and the man behind the counter had lots of traded musical instruments, but, John Sims brought home the chicken for dinner with Mary Sims, of husband and wife with his uncle in-law.  By the offered to work an old farm, John and Mary Sims decided together to leave NYC and go to the dry land farm, and it had been very dry, indeed.  The first night, something so endearing, each, John and Mary had been exhausted, and had went to bed on makeshift beds, of evergreen branches inside comforters or a sleeping bag.  He, John Sims had been falling asleep, and hadn't seemed to notice the roof shingle sometimes banging in the wind. She, Mary Sims looked at the ceiling in the new surroundings out alone in the cabin, and had shown concern on her face, and asked her husband John to come closer to her, but he had been so tired, and said just go to sleep. The banging shingle did not stop, and she moved closer to him, and that is the story of this part that is so endearing.

Faithful to the original, 1954 "Rear Window," with Jimmy Steward and Grace Kelly,
 this 1998 version, "Rear Window," the characterization of "Jason Kemp," by Christopher Reeves did in his excellent acting have a certain realistic portrayal, and that is that, he has been an excellent actor during his career.

The "Claudia Henderson" role portrayed by Daryl Hannah as the screen play unfolds have nuances that needed very good knowledge as if Claudia lived in that particular traversal during the screen play.  That "Jason Kemp" had an extreme disability in not being ambulatory is central to the screen play, of course, simply true.  He does form a relationship  with her, and she with him, and that little cooking scene is a 'tell' of the closeness they formed, Jason and Allison in those role in that sense, as if it relay happened, *and helped 'engage' me as a viewer of the "who dunnit" film. 

In that, the time passes in tangibility in literal existing reality, of course,
